Ingvar Johansson has a position as professor in theoretical philosophy in Umeċ, Sweden, but he is since summer 2002 working as a researcher in IFOMIS. His main interests in philosophy have been ontology and philosophy of science. He has published books and articles in both areas. All his IFOMIS-papers are linked to his home site .

Bertin Klein is a Senior Consultant at the Knowledge Management Research Department of the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence DFKI GmbH. 

Thomas Roth-Berghofer is affiliated with the Knowledge Management Research Department of the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence DFKI GmbH since 2002. He is also managing the Knowledge-based Systems group of Prof. Andreas Dengel at the University of Kaiserslautern. Dr. Roth-Berghofer gives lectures about the Semantic Web and Case-Based Reasoning. His main research interests are in trustworthy and explainable knowledge-based personalized support of KM activities. He co-initiated a workshop series on Philosophy and Informatics and an accompanying Special Interest Group as well as a workshop series on Modeling and Retrieval of Context. He was co-organizer of the Third Conference Professional Knowledge Management WM 2005 in Kaiserslautern and is co-chair of the European Conference on Case-Based Reasoning ECCBR 2006 in Ölüdeniz/Fethiye, Turkey.
